Paris falls to Woodstock in overtime, 2-1 (OT)
The Woodstock Navy Vets' Austin Whetham scored 10:14 into overtime to beat the Paris Mounties, 2-1 (OT).
The win gave Woodstock a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.
The Navy Vets' Mike Harrison was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Harrison will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.46 entering the contest.
Woodstock was paced by Whetham, who tallied one goal.
Paris was unable to stop the Navy Vets from sending pucks towards the net, and Woodstock eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.
Woodstock also got a goal from Jack Taylor as well. More assists for Woodstock came via Justin Elms, who had one and Dylan Wettlaufer, who had two.
The Mounties were led by Graham Evans, who scored the team's only goal. Evans scored on the power play 13:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Paris had taken the advantage when the Navy Vets' Cam Leslie got sent off for tripping. Brodie Smith picked up the assist.
Woodstock incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hayden Padalino recorded 37 saves for the Mounties. Paris incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
